Screw chillers have a wide range of uses at present, and are mainly used in industrial applications. Especially used in the cooling of production lines such as chemical, plastics, electroplating, pharmaceuticals, food additives, and where the production process requires chilled water.
In the electroplating industry: Because there are many acidic and alkaline solutions in the electroplating industry that require cooling, the corrosivity is very large and the service life is generally not long. Therefore, the demand for screw chillers is very large. Plastics industry: Injection molding units need frozen water to cool down during work.
Screw chiller advantages:
1. Simple structure, less moving parts, fewer wearing parts, only 1/10 piston type, low failure rate, long service life;
2. The circular motion is stable, there is no "surge" phenomenon when running at low load, the noise is low, and the vibration is small;
3. The compression ratio can be as high as 20 and the EER value is high;
4. Easy to adjust, can be adjusted steplessly in the range of 10% to 100%, high efficiency at partial load, and remarkable power saving;
5. Small size, light weight, can be established full-closed large capacity unit;
6. Insensitive to wet stroke;
7. Is a positive pressure operation, there is no problem of external gas intrusion corrosion.
Screw chiller disadvantages:
1. The price is higher than the piston type;
2. The single unit capacity is smaller than the centrifugal type, and the rotation speed is lower than that of the centrifugal type.
3. The lubricating oil system is more complex and has a large fuel consumption.
4. High-capacity unit noise is higher than that of centrifugal type;
5. Requirements processing accuracy and assembly accuracy.
